| I love the way you play. I an a life-long pianist and 4-year ukulele player. I'd like to get started on slide, lap, Hawaiian—whatever but need advice about a starter instrument and best lesson book(s) & CDs.
Also, I want one or two of your guitar straps if you think they are small enough to work on a short but heavy banjolele. If you have time, Let me know what you think. |

I am 60 year old new Resophonic beginner. My Grandmother bought my Dad a 1932 National resophonic guitar when he was eight years old and it is my dream to learn to play it. My Dad would not let me have it until he passed away because it was the last thing my Grandmother gave him. He passed away three years ago and I just started to learn some things. I have listened to a lot of different Dobro players but think you are "The Best" and if you ever have any teaching material available please let me know. | Due to paralysis in my right hand, since birth, I never thought I could play a stringed instrument. It was 1970 and I was 23 years old when I walked into "The Folkstore" in Seattle and saw Thane Mitchell playing a Dobro across his lap. I went home that afternoon and designed a handle allowing me to grasp and operate the bar with my 'bad' right hand. I bought a $75 Yamaha guitar and mounted a dobro nut. The rest, as they say, is history.
